This contemporary sculptural abstract mosaic was created for the Zeugma Mosaic museum in Gazietep, Turkey for inclusion in their future comtemporary wing. "Kaynak" is Hebrew for "living waters, source" and is symbolic of the Euphrates River whose rising waters, when dammed up in the late 1990's, washed away the shores of the ancient Zeugma civilization. The Zeugma Museum was opened in 2013 to house the extraordinary mosaics and architectural ruins that continue to be excavated to this day.
